Innovation Engineering is a field of study that applies systems-based thinking to product and process innovation, resulting in repeatable, increased speed to market or implementation (up to 6x), and decreased exposure to risk (30-80%). The principles behind it are grounded in 33 years of quantitative research and a proven track record of effectiveness in some the world’s most successful and innovative companies.

CME is proud to be the exclusive partner for Innovation Engineering Operating System (IEOS) training in Saskatchewan. This training is delivered one-on-one, on-site with manufacturers. But first, companies can receive an up-close look at some of the tools and methodology of the program through IEOS Test Drives.

"Innovation Engineering explained in a few words: Collaborative Innovation Toolbox. For our company, this toolbox gave us the specialized tools we needed to open new doors and refine our thinking when it comes to being meaningfully unique. The program has shown to be a success in not only product development, but in many operational areas of our business, including human resources."

What is an Innovation Engineering Test Drive?

Test Drives are one-day workshops, which provide an overview of the impact of innovation, the system methodology, and why Innovation Engineering will catalyze growth and success within your organization.

Fundamental to this workshop is the opportunity to apply the basics of the system to a real, existing issue, considered risk, or opportunity that your organization is facing. Trained facilitators will assist in refining the parameters of the issue or opportunity, lead you through the process of generating meaningfully unique ideas to resolve it, and demonstrate how the cycles of learning guide you to overcoming 'death threats' to achieve a successful resolution.

Why should you attend a Test Drive?

We now compete in a global market — even if our products or services are limited to North America. By taking a Test Drive of the Innovation Engineering system, you will discover a proven way to not only compete and ensure survival, but take your business to the next level.

Who should attend a Test Drive?

Manufacturing and exporting leaders interested in developing in-house innovation capability to increase competitiveness of their company for profitable growth.

Each Test Drive recommends 2-3 participants per company (to a maximum 15 people per workshop), as the system produces the best possible solutions when applied by a 'team.'

Where and when can I attend a Test Drive?

The Saskatchewan Manufacturing Centre of Excellence held its first two Test Drive sessions on January 26 (in Regina) and January 27 (in Saskatoon).

Additional sessions will be held based on demand, so if you are interested in attending, please e-mail sask@cme-mec.ca.

How can I more deeply apply Innovation Engineering in my business?

CME now offers customized integration support, including half-day and three-day in-house sessions, as well as full three-month 'waves.'
