Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and the Saskatchewan Manufacturing Council were pleased to host The Hon. Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, Government of Canada, in Regina, on Friday, June 19, for Canada's Farm Progress Show — the country's largest dry land agricultural technology showcase.

Highlights from the day:

  • CME — in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP) and the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) — brought together 28 chief executives and senior leaders from exporters across the province for a private 2.5-hour roundtable with Minister Fast. The discussion was moderated by CME President & CEO Jayson Myers.
  • Following the roundtable, Minister Fast took more than an hour to walk about the show grounds and meet with a number of Saskatchewan exhibitors, including Redekop Manufacturing, Seed Hawk, Meridian Manufacturing, Degelman Industries and Morris Industries.
  • In the afternoon, Minister Fast visited three local manufacturing facilities alongside CME President & CEO Jayson Myers, as well as CME Vice President & Saskatchewan Manufacturing Council Executive Director, Derek Lothian: Dutch Industries (Pilot Butte, SK), O&T Farms (Regina, SK), and Dumur Industries (White City, SK).
